Moonsun Barbados · In development for 2027
The route returns to Barbados.
A place-rooted art experience shaped around Kerry Mark Green’s work, his relationship to Barbados, and the stories held by land.
Kerry · land · return
Barbados is not a backdrop.
Barbados is part of the work itself. Moonsun Barbados begins with Kerry’s own relationship to the island—its memory, music, history, people, and living ground. Melody Khodabandeh creates, curates, and narrates the journey in collaboration with Kerry.

Barbados came to Charleston.
Across a welcome reception at The Moxy, a gala, and an Oistins-style fish fry at Charles Towne Landing, art became a meeting place for Bajan culture, community, food, memory, and story.
With acknowledgment
With appreciation to Rhoda Green—Kerry Mark Green’s mother, Barbados Honorary Consul to the Carolinas, and President of the Barbados and the Carolinas Legacy Foundation—for her leadership in sustaining the Barbados–Carolinas connection.

From Barbados, the journey returns to Hawaiʻi.
Moonsun is shaped across connected places. The Barbados chapter carries Kerry’s Bajan roots, memory, and return; Hawaiʻi holds the gallery’s present practice, relationships, and unfolding Artwalk.

A self-led path through art and place.
The proposed Barbados AR Artwalk will be created, curated, and narrated by Melody in collaboration with Kerry. Kerry’s artwork and storytelling will lead the experience; Melody will shape the self-led journey and its chapters, with Kerry’s input throughout.

Relationship to place
We enter with respect.
We honor Barbados as a living island with Indigenous history, African survival, colonial wounds, independence, and generations of Bajan stewardship. Every collaboration will begin with listening, local relationship, clear credit, and reciprocity.
